How to choose the right hair colour
1. Try to keep it a couple of shades lighter or darker than your natural hair colour. In any case, the most you can experiment is three shades lighter or darker than your hair colour.
2. Skin colour also matters. If you're fair, but without a pinkish touch to your skin, you can experiment with shades. But if you have a tinge pink to your complexion, do not go for red or maroons. If you're dark-skinned, stick to dark shades with contrasting highlights of reds or strawberry.
3. Also match your eye colour with the hair colour to see if it works. Older women can try experimenting with lighter shades of their hair colour, as too dark can look contrived.
4. Also make sure you know what you're doing if you're colouring your hair yourself.
