Guidelines for Getting a Tattoo

 

1. Make sure your body is healthy enough to be tattooed (Cold, Flu, HIV, Diabetes etc.

 

2. Make sure you've had food and rest. Getting tattooed on an empty stomach or drunk may cause you to feel faint, nauseated, or dizzy.

 

3. Make sure you skin is in good condition. A few days prior to the day you plan on getting your tattoo prepare your skin. Drink plenty of water so your skin is well hydrated. Use a good lotion a few times a day.

 

4. Don't take pain killers like aspirin, ibuprofen, and anesthetics, which may possibly cause cause problems, such as increased bleeding.

 

5. Refrain from using alcohol or drugs before being pierced or tattooed. Alcohol and drugs thin your blood, so you will bleed more.

 

6. Avoid getting tattooed if the area of skin is dry, sun burned, has raised scares, or has acne.

 

7. Take your time when choosing your tattoo. It is going to be on your body for the rest of your life.
